Events of 10/10-10/13/08

The long Columbus Day weekend. I decided to take monday off this year since the company doesn't give it to us. Friday was 1/2 day work then lunch at The Edge Cafe and shopping at Whole Foods. Took it easy after that since saturday is going to be busy. Saturday started with service then we went to the RISD alumni art festival on Benefit St. Beautiful day, so it was packed there. Then it was off to Purgatory chasm for the congregation cookout. Large turnout, plenty of food. We were pretty spent after that, but it's off to Waterfire. Luke called so he met us at the house. We ended up at Trinity Brewhouse for snacks and beer, Olivia was falling asleep. Somewhere along the way back Lisa lost $50 from her pocket. What a busy day! Monday we took Olivia to United Skates which did not go well. After 20 minutes she'd had enough, so we headed over to the Edge for cupcakes to drown our sorrows. After the meeting Lisa made those delicious cole slaw & chicken tacos. Great way to end the weekend.

Events of 10/9/08

Another thursday, and I'm feeling a little wiped out. I have a talk tonight, so that's stressful. We went to El Azteca for supper since Lisa sold 4 bags to a person in Singapore. We had a family with 4 children show up at the meeting. I guess they're just starting up and they have twins and a baby. The twins were wild, Lisa got up to help but there was no conntrolling them so they sat downstairs and left before the meeting ended. Found out that the Selesky's are moving at the end of the month, guess it's a big secret that leaked , maybe they're trying to sneak away in the middle of some night. Got home and watched Earl and The Office and went to bed.

Events of 10/8/08

Had my bike today so I went to the river park at lunch. The weather was great, sunny, 70ish. The 3 of us went to Providence Place mall tonight to look for shoes and jackets- the quest continues. I had the tikka masala at the indian place at the food court, which is surprisingly good. Olivia had Johhny Rocket's chicken fingers (surprise) and Lisa had a bacon-onion ring burger. We shared 2 cones from Ben & Jerry's and got home a little after 7:00. It's nice to get out after work, change of scenery.

Events of 10/7/08

I thought I was due for a photo to be posted, so while I was sitting in my car at lunch with my burrito, carrot and coffee I noticed the beauty surrounding me here on O'Neill Blvd. so I snapped a picture. We have Supply New England on the right and Waste Sytems on the left. Adding to the natural beauty are the wires above and the radio tower. It's amazing what humans are capable of. I only wish I could have captured the odor of Waste Systems. After work I went to visit Aunt Irene at the nursing home. She seemed peaceful, but didn't utter a word. After supper Olivia and I played wiffle ball, she loves it. The rest of the evening was uneventful.

Events of 10/6/08

Back on the treadmill. Rode the bike today, not too bad but it is getting colder. No heat at work this morning. Studied with Luke at his apartment at lunch. Lisa went to the Foundry Artists meeting tonight, Luke came over and we watched the Red Sox playoff game among other things. Took my first hit of melatonin at 9:30 hoping that it will help me sleep better. I'll report on the outcome of that tomorrow.

Events of 10/4 & 10/5/08

Saturday I "dressed" the lawn with composted manure and it turned out to be alot of work. Then we went to hall cleaning at 12:30. Kind of brutal with one vacuum. We then headed over to look at a condo on the east side. Not good. No sun, small, bad schools, not many positives. Went shopping at Whole Foods and Lisa made some very good hamburgers with tater tots. Sunday was busy. Picked up Asia so Olivia had a little friend to raise you know what with, went out in service, came home for lunch, went back for the meeting, dropped off Asia and came home.

Events of 10/2 & 10/3/08

I've taken tomorrow off, off this is the thursday before which is always tough. Tired from the week and just want to get this day over with (how's that for appreciating every day). It's made worse by the fact that the 1st thursday meeting of the month involves turning in our time and doing the literature order. Also, I'll be swamped with people ordering annual items so I'll be late getting home. All that is exactly what happened. Friday Lisa and I went to breakfast, it started with an argument which we were able to weather and we had a nice breakfast at Meeting St. We checked some stores for coats for Lisa (came up empty), went to coffee exchange and came home. Spread some grass seed out front, and Lisa an Olivia drove to Swansea to drop off a purse.

Events of 10/1/08

Drove in to work again due to the threat of rain. Pretty well caught up at work. Went to lunch at El Azteca with Sam, he seems to be doing ok. Supper was Papa Gino's. They sent us a buffalo chicken pizza instead of Rustic, which was disappointing to us all but especially to Olivia who brokedown in tears as if someone died. The problem is her addiction to parmesan cheese for which she gets nicotine-like cravings. We had to let her dump some on the regular cheese pizza we got. That calmed her down. Had a glass of white wine and watched Madmen.

Events of 9/30/08

It's the last day of September. A pretty uneventful day even by my standards. I'm really liking the dried figs. I have 7 per day. I don't know why I chose 7, it just seemed like the right amount. 6 is not enough, 8 is too much. They're like eating a fig newton without the newton. I might not go back to prunes, at least for the foreseeable future. Been drinking alot of coffee since it seems to really improve my mood. Lisa went to her Arts in RI meeting tonight, leaving me to my own devices. Not much else to say, hopefully things calm down a little tomorrow, I can't take all this exitement.
